There is no doubt that second albums are the confirmation for most bands and in this case, Sandford Music Factory proves what they had announced in their debut, that they are not an average band. Awen sets things straight from the beginning. SMF is not looking forward to become a temporary hit or a weekend dancing hype, they have arrived to stay. They continue to make timeless songs that will last forever, as fresh as all the different songs that have influence them.
Their new album is very varied: classic rock, folk, a bit of punk-rock and stoner. We can find a progressive-conceptual track that lasts 15 minutes and ends in an instrumental eclosion and references to their beloved 90’s, …
Their first album “Melted to Oblivion” – published under the name Sweet Oblivion Band, which they were obliged to change due to copyright reasons - made it into the music library of many rockers and it was applauded by several journalist and radio professionals without any promotion.
Awen was recorded in Spain and mastered in New York in West West Side Music Studio from the prestigious Alan Douches (Mastodon, My Morning Jacket, Clutch, Hole, Monster Magnet, The Misfits, Fleetwood Mac, Pete Townsed, etc…), therefore this production has the necessary professional touch to flirt with the big American productions.
SMF has one of the best voices from the current rocker scene, a guitar player with personality and a rhythmic base that never fails into the repetition of the established clichés. We are talking about the new Spanish rock hope with international views. SMF sounds better and fresher than ever.
The band sounds like a reunion of Led Zeppelin and Alice in Chains, a jam between The Who and Pearl Jam or a junction of QOTSA and The Beatles; so if you like all of this, SANDFORD MUSIC FACTORY will be your new band.
